Tie-Dye Coffee Filter Background Technique & New Video!

Good Morning! I have some good news. A few weeks ago, our internet provider upgraded us to fiber optics....yay! It was a long time coming. What does that mean? It means that it no longer takes me ALL DAY to load a video to YouTube. That's why I haven't been adding new videos lately. It was too daunting & frustrating to wait so long and sometimes, my videos were not always perfect because of the internet service too. I was so flustered and impatient...but no more!

Today's card is one that I had featured with my Stamp Set Spotlight a few months ago. The technique is called Tie-Dye Coffee Filter Background Technique. It's so easy and fun and I'm going to show you how!

It's so hard to believe that the background is created on a coffee filter using baby wipes and your ink pads. You can click on my video below or the link listed below the video to watch. Enjoy!

Thailand Achievers September Blog Hop & Last One!

Welcome to our last Thailand Achievers Blog Hop. We are Stampin' Up! demonstrators who earned the Thailand Incentive Trip and we are all blog hopping together. We all went on our trip back in July and our Stampin' Up! year will come to a close on September 30th. A new blog hop will take place next month for the Alaska Achievers and I'm one of them!

This month our theme is  "Holiday Catalog Favorites" and this is the card I designed for the blog hop:

Fall is my favorite time of year so I just had to have the Pick A Pumpkin stamp set and I didn't want to use a Halloween sentiment on this card so I found a lovely one to use from the Paisley's and Posies stamp set.

Some of my images were stamped twice without re-inking to get the dark and light shading variations. This stamp set is fun to play with. So many cute images!

Thanks so much for visiting today. Look for a new blog hop for the Alaska Achievers starting in October and I've earned the Alaska Incentive trip so you'll see me participate each month!

Now you can continue to follow the hop by clicking on the person below me (Debbie Henderson) in this line-up:

How fun is that? Speaking of Paper Pumpkin, did you see the fantastic September kit? This is my grouping of projects that I created. I always create one project just like the directions and then add my own twist by creating Alternative Projects such as these:

The projects below are created using the direction sheet and making them exactly as intended. One is the mini card with a stamped envelope and the coordinating pillow box:

And of course I changed things up to create alternative projects. If you are a subscriber of mine, I will be sending you directions in your monthly Paper Pumpkin newsletter:

2 cards!

And 2 different ways to alter the pillow box:

Are you ready to see my Paper Pumpkin video? I show you how to assemble the card and pillow box and talk a little about my Alternative Projects. Click on the video or the link below it to view:

Merry Monday Challenge #257

I love to decorate tags so when Sue asked us for a decorated tag for the Merry Monday Challenge, I decided to make my whole card into a tag shape. Do you like?

I even layered some pockets on the front to sneak my die-cut mittens into. The Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper really turns this into an elegant project, I think along with a few Pearl Jewels.

Hop on over to our Merry Monday Challenge to visit my teammates and I hope you'll play along too! Thank you so much for visiting me today!

Remarkably Creative September Blog Hop!

Welcome to our fall-themed RemARKably Creative September Blog Hop. We have lots of fall inspiration for you and once you view my blog post, I will have a list of participants at the end so you can keep hopping along from designer to designer.

For my card this month, I used the new Merry Patterns stamp set that I earned for free and so can you! Here's my card:

Being from Maine and almost into hunting season here, I knew I wanted to create a scenery with my deer. I had this idea in my head and it came out exactly like I pictured. Don't you love it when that happens?  I dressed him up in hunter orange and hid him in the woods so he wouldn't get shot!

I first stamped the image using Crumb Cake Ink and using a Blender Pen, removed the ink over his sweater. I then used the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker to color it in. I then stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock. And yes, I did hand-cut him!

Notice how the reindeer is tucked in the back of one of the birch trees? I used an Exacto knife to cut slits on both sides of the embossed tree and slid him in there!

The Woodlands Embossing Folder is what I used to emboss all of my trees but before I embossed my Whisper White Cardstock layer, I inked the inside of my embossing folder with Soft Sky Ink and then embossed the cardstock piece.

For the gray on my trees, I added a Post-It note on the right-hand side of my trees to shield the Smoky Slate Ink that I sponged on the edge of each tree. I just kept moving the Post-It note over each time to do the sponging. My last step was to add the black portions of the birch bark to each tree. I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and just added some squiggles here and there. That's it!

Now it's time to visit my blog hop teammates. You can click to the next person after me in the list and go from blog to blog! Thanks for visiting me today!
